Google Chrome v110 will be the first version of the world’s most popular browser to switch to a new release schedule…..! An anoucement made on 22 Dec. 2022. It means that Google Chrome will change up its release cycle a bit with a new “early stable” at the start of the year 2023 before it goes to users.
The new version of the browsers will be on the “canary” channel for the first release before propagating down to the dev, beta. And then finally it will move to the stable release channels. Meanwhile, users can get indulge once it done with certain plans.
Google will expand that release schedule, starting with Chrome 110 to include a new “early stable” release, which pushes the latest version of Chrome to users a week ahead of the full launch. Previously the stable release of Chrome 110 was planned for February 1 now it is rescheduled to February 7, 2023.
It is said in the sources that a “small percentage” of general Chrome users will get the update a week early. Google has changed the release schedule for Chrome. From Chrome 110, the initial release date to stable will be one week earlier.
This early stable version will be released to a small percentage of users, with the majority of people getting the release a week later at the normally scheduled date, this will also be the date the new version is available from the Chrome download page.
For the first release, Google notes that the schedule will be as follows:
Beta: January 12, 2023
Early Stable: February 1, 2023
Stable: February 7, 2023
Google explained that by releasing stable to a small percentage of users early, they can get a chance to monitor the release before it rolls out to all of their users. If any showstopping issue is discovered, it can be addressed while the impact is relatively small.
