Previously this month, Google come up with a changelog for the Google Play System update for December 2022. Although, the same was referred to as just a partial changelog. While recently Google has updated the same once again, whereby it gives a better look at all changes and other add on’s that are being added.
Furthermore, Mishaal Rahman of Esper instantly noticed the changes that showcased the new entries on the support page. This is the first addition for phones, Whereby the Play Store will now be able to archive apps automatically. It happens when more storage space is needed on the handset. Additionally, Find My Device will now support encrypted last-known location reports using a new “Privacy-Centric Framework” that also going to be available moving forward.
Moving ahead, there will be two additions to Wallet:
- [Phone] An internal feature that allows checking the quality of ID images during customer identity verification for Google products.
- [Phone] Enable Digital Car Key (DCK) feature on Xiaomi.
Digital Car Key support
Although, there is no indication of what kind of Xiaomi devices will going to support it. Whereas, the Digital Car Key support will prove to be one of the essential features, especially for those that are able to take the advantage of it. Fortunately, the same will be made available to more smartphone makers in the coming future. Parallelly Google has been working on achieving digital IDs and licenses, intended to become mainstream. At the same time, initiate digitizing since the formation of the Android Ready SE Alliance.
Now it seems like having a digital ID on your Android phone will probably going to become reality for some. This is with the added support for digital IDs and also driver’s licenses for some select state locations. At present, it seems like it will only be accessible in Maryland but simultaneously we are hoping that more regions also adopt this feature.
