Reportedly, Samsung Electronics today announced that Dr. Daniel Ahn of Mobile Platform Center, MX Business, and Dr. Michael Polley of Samsung Research1 America (SRA), both of their name is considered fellows of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Notably, the world’s largest technical professional organization respectively.
It is worth informing here, that this is the highest grade award by IEEE, the “Fellow” title given out by the institute’s board of Directors. It is when a person showcases an outstanding track record of accomplishment throughout any field of interest in IEEE. Whereas, the total fellows shortlisted in one year are not exceed 0.1 percent of the organization’s total voting membership.
Moving ahead further, other members of Samsung Electronics were entitled to the name IEEE Fellows in the past. The list includes the name of the Chairman of the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology Kinam Kim, Executive Vice President and Samsung Research AI Center head Daniel Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of the Advanced Communications Research Center Sunghyun Choi, Senior Vice President Charlie Zhang of Samsung Research America, Vice President Xue (Steve) Liu of the Samsung AI Center (SAIC) in Montreal and Fellow Juho Lee of Samsung Research respectively.
Dr. Ahn and Dr. Polley’s Contribution
Noticeably, Dr. Ahn is the Executive Vice President and Head of the MX Business Mobile Platform Center. He contributes a lot in order to bring users tremendous mobile experiences. Through the development of innovative security solutions for Galaxy smartphones, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT). And also, in the field of cloud-based mobile platform function expansion and enhancement.
“I am both honored and humbled being elevated to IEEE Fellow,” said Dr. Ahn. “I will continuously devote myself to achieve technological advancements that would eventually help improve our products and provide better and meaningful experiences to our valued customers.”
Also, Dr. Polley is the Senior Vice President and Head of the Mobile Processor Innovation (MPI) Lab at SRA. Whereby, he supervises and leads a team of world-class algorithm and system designers. Who focuses on creating advanced and innovative technologies for Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones as well as next-generation mobile devices.
