Samsung got the approval for its tax cut application for nine planned in Taylor

Notably, this approval will save Samsung Electronics US$4.8 billion (approx. 6.26 trillion won) in taxes.

Reportedly, the board of directors of the Taylor Independent School District in Texas has approved Samsung Electronics’ application for a tax cut for its plan. This has been approached by Samsung, which intended to build nine new semiconductor factories in Taylor. The investment cost of the same is US$167.6 billion respectively. Chapter 313, specifies a property tax reduction policy in Texas, that going to be ended by the end of this year. Notably, this approval will save Samsung Electronics US$4.8 billion (approx 6.26 trillion won) in taxes.

It has to bring into notice that Samsung is building a US$17 billion foundry in Taylor. Whereas, other than this plant, the Korean giant intended to build 11 new factories in Texas. By investing an aggregate amount of US$192.1 billion (approx 269.7 trillion won) over the period of the next 20 years. While nine of the 11 factories will be going to build in Taylor. Whereas the remaining two will be in the Manor Independent School District of the City of Austin. Here, Samsung has got the approval for its tax cut application for the nine planned for Taylor and it has been waiting for approval for the remaining two in Manor.

The market share gap between TSMC and Samsung become widened

As per market research firm Trendfroce, the market share gap between TSMC and Samsung continuously increasing. It has widened by 40.6 percentage points in the third quarter. While TSMC has enjoyed the pleasure of being in the No. 1 position by having 50.2 percent from the same tenure in 2021 to about 9.49 trillion won.

On the other hand, TSMC disclosed recently that it would be going to invest a total of US$40 billion in order to build two factories in Arizona in the United States. Noticeably, the Taiwanese foundry firm had planned to invest US$12 billion. But it is more than triple the investment scale. Whereas, the CEOs of Apple and AMD participate in the TSMC plant groundbreaking event in person. They also declared that they going to use semiconductor chips from TSMC’s Arizona plants.
