Samsung Galaxy Watch blood pressure monitoring coming to Malaysia

Blood pressure monitoring in Samsung smartwatches was available since Galaxy Watch Active 2 but this function is only available in a few countries/regions. Now, according to the information, the company will provide this feature in more countries, such as Malaysia.

The feature will be officially available in Malaysia as the Medical Devices Authority has approved and authorized medical-grade devices to use the Samsung Blood Pressure app in the country. This means that all Galaxy watches with this feature at the hardware level will be able to provide users with blood pressure monitoring services.

Samsung’s Blood Pressure app can measure blood pressure (systolic and diastolic), pulse rate, and historical charts for users by connecting to a Samsung smartphone. There’s no mention of an ECG in the certification document, so it doesn’t look like an ECG will be coming to a Samsung smartwatch anytime soon.

Blood pressure monitoring is officially available on the Galaxy Watch Active 2, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
