Meta as an owner company of WhatsApp possesses millions of users in India and other markets are striving to test a new feature to make it more arresting to its app.
To enhance the potential of the app meta is also up for various features to add on in its beta program. Which are only available to those who have registered for the beta program. The latest beta feature spotted online reveals that WhatsApp might be working on voice images, videos, links, and text status updates. The omen will soon take place that you’ll be able to put a voice status instead of only those usual sharing that last for 24 hours.
What is WhatsApp’s Voice Status Feature?
The known source has marketed the feature in the iOS beta update and uploaded a screenshot of the feature’s interface. The WhatsApp beta update for iOS has recently revealed the ability to post voice statuses on the app. The feature is currently under development. In the report, they have shown that WhatsApp users will be able to post for up to 30 seconds as their voice statuses.
In the vision of maintaining confidentiality, a voice status will only be shared with the people matched to your privacy settings. Therefore, these voice statuses are end-to-end encrypted. The report notes that the microphone icon pops up when users do not enter any text in the status section.
WhatsApp would add an “Edited” label next to the message if it was edited after sending it to an individual or group. The WABetaInfo report stated that users will have a 15-minute window to edit any sent message. In a recent update, the messaging app was spotted testing the edit messages feature on the iOS app. Users who had updated their beta app to version 22.23.0.73 on iOS could edit a message once they long-press it. Although the voice status feature was previously spotted by WABetaInfo in the Android beta app version 2.22.21.5. The report stated that WhatsApp is currently working on the feature, which is still in progress.
There is more thing that I surely wanna deliver about the much similar features that are in progress. The editing messages feature is also under development and available for a limited number of beta users. Although, it is not mentioned anywhere when will it arrive.
