[U: New leak] Samsung Galaxy S23 to launch with satellite connectivity

Update 2- November 24, 2022: The popular Twitter tipster Ice Universe stated that the upcoming  Samsung Galaxy S23 series will support satellite connectivity.

Update 1- September 22, 2022: Huwaei was the first and Apple was the next, we have already updated previously that Samsung seemly give chase to the two companies that already possess satellite connectivity…..! Samsung ensured the targeted availability should be there in the upcoming flagships. No doubt Samsung will become the third mobile phone manufacturer to provide satellite help functions.

There would be some hurdles minded as, unfortunately, the whistleblower Ricciolo did not clarify in his tweet which Galaxy model will get the satellite help function. Due to the difference between Hope and Apple, Samsung may not name the feature directly Emergency SOS via satellite. Otherwise, the feature is indeed in development, it’ll be grounded with the release of the Galaxy S23 series.

Satellite connectivity feature in Samsung Galaxy S23 series:

Queries can the same as it was asked before, How is the feature actually beneficial for the Galaxy operator?

amsung devices may get satellite connectivity

Emergency SOS via satellite enables messaging with emergency services when outside of cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. Via the feature, you’ll be able to reach the emergency services regardless of cellular and Wi-Fi coverage. Satellite connectivity can also be used to share your location with friends and family via Find My.

In 15 seconds, you can send the simple SOS message in clear sky conditions, or for several minutes during overcast. Samsung narrates its story regarding the Satellite connectivity providers. In its recent SEC filing, Globalstar reported that it will “provide 85% of its current and future network capacity” to Apple. And will be reporting record revenues as a result. Because apple leans on the vast network of Globalstar for its emergency SOS feature on the iPhone 14 and future iPhones.

Samsung in the same context will rather turn to Elon Musk, whose Starlink satellite service has already been in talks with Apple. Even though the team from Cupertino ultimately went with Globalstar. There is another factor Starlink, is in a brouhaha with the aspiring 5G network carrier DISH. Which hogs a bunch of 12GHz spectrum and wants to use it for terrestrial 5G network deployment.

Concluding stanza…

While Samsung has already indulged the idea assuredly volumetric launch the new feature in the Galaxy S23 series. Seemingly achieving the willingness of the company is to be investing millions. As it is indulged somewhere in new Globalstar satellites to maintain and expand the service.
