Samsung Smart TV Receives Royal Society for the Blind Accessibility Certification for the second time in a row

Since 2013, Samsung has been committed to the British Royal Association in order to strengthen the accessibility of smart TVs. This year in 2022 Samsung Smart TV obtained the ‘RNIB Tried and Tested Accreditation‘ from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) on the 15th local time. This year is termed the foremost time when Samsung receive ‘two’ frequent certifications in a row, for the visually impaired from this organization.

Samsung also made this possible due to addition of the some applicable and enhanced accessibility features and functionality to the Samsung Smart TV according to the need of the visually impaired people. Let’s go through them briefly under the next heading.

Some of the embracing functions indulge newly in the Samsung Smart TV

‘Voice guidance’ has been added function to guide users on how to use the remote control and accessibility features and provides key program information. You can also adjust the voice pitch and speed to suit your needs while using a Samsung Smart TV.

The ‘High contrast screen’ function expresses graphic information in white text on an opaque black background to increase visibility and reduce eye strain. In addition, the transparent TV menu screen is automatically adjusted to be opaque so that the text is clearly displayed.

The ‘Monochrome‘ function transforms the color images to black and white for users who do not recognize colors well. Then there is the ‘Color Inversion‘ function that reverses the background to black. The text to white for users who are sensitive to light or have low vision, improving visibility improves by this.

‘SeeColors app’ is a super addition that helps to adjust the screen color spectrum so that people with color vision impairment can see it with no struggle. The ‘focus expansion’ function makes text stretched and enlarge visible enough, which is also useful for the observer.

The vice president of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, Seok-Woo Yong, said.

“We are very proud to have been able to continuously obtain the ‘certification of accessibility for the visually impaired from the Royal Society of the Blind in the UK.” I will do my best so that you can watch your favorite programs without any hassle.”

The Chief Operating Officer of the Royal Blind Association, David Clark, encountered the contrast:

“Samsung is leading the way in improving accessibility for blind and visually impaired users, and Samsung’s designs in particular make a huge difference in the daily lives of visually impaired people. “I look forward to continuing to work with Samsung on various projects in the future.”

Concluding…

So, What will be your concern in the era? Samsung makes more functions available that are useful and helpful for people who are visually impaired. They serve more detailed components of the screen, such as channel information and a smart hub. The transparent TV menu screen is automatically adjusted to be opaque so that the text is easy to display. Which could be observed as a generous practice to support the lacking society.
