Samsung provides the best updating support would be it regular security or OS updates. Therefore in terms of software support, it continuously does better out of various OEMs available. Instead of having multiple devices in its repository, it often used to update at least one of its phones or tablets. And these security fixes they release even before the months started.

And with the delay in the release of Android 13, that perhaps consume a lot of Samsung’s time. Due to this, it hampers and as a result delaying in November 2022 security updates. But at the same, we expect to come up with more enhanced and expert rollouts in the coming days.

As we are already aware that Samsung already classified their range of smartphones into categories as they going to receive the updates. While the company’s flagship phones get monthly updates at least for two years before being switched to quarterly updates. Then they further downgrade the list to biannual updates.

Quarterly updates

Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 5G

However, presently it does not have any Galaxy S flagship smartphones in the biannual update list. Also, as per the above, it has been clearly visible that there are a bunch of Galaxy S phones that mostly launched in 2020 onwards. And the same is still officially reflected in the monthly update list. While some of these devices will further be downgraded to quarterly updates in the future. But they are still eligible for updates although their interval may vary to some extent.

Additionally, out of the phones mentioned above in the list, Samsung also ensures to provide four years of Android (OS) upgrades to devices that launched since S21(including) series. Whereas if you own an enterprise edition then you are eligible for the five years of security updates.
