Samsung TV shipments could fall below 40 million units for the first time in 12 years

According to industry sources, this year, the shipments of TV could fall by a huge margin. In terms of the companies, Samsung and LG shipments will get fall while the shipments of TCL in China would be modest. However, Hisense, shipments are expected to increase.

The shipment of the TV market globally is expected to recover from next year and the highest sale mark will achieve in 2026.

Now the research firm Omdia predicted that this year’s TV shipments by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics could each record the lowest levels in decades.

Judging from the stats, the South Korean tech firm Samsung Electronics is predicted that TV shipments this year could fall below 40 million units for the first time in 12 years.

From 2010 to last year, Samsung Electronics’ TV shipments exceeded 40 million units annually. The industry sees 40 million units as the marginal line of Samsung Electronics’ TV division.

LG Electronics predicted that TV shipments could fall below 25 million units for the first time in 15 years this year. LG Electronics’ annual TV shipments from 2008 to last year exceeded 25 million units.

Meanwhile, TCL’s decline in TV shipments this year is relatively small, and Hisense is expected to rise again this year.

Also, TCL is expected to ship about 24 million TVs this year. A fresh report from Omdia claimed that the industry estimates annual TV shipments as 220 million units. After recording 222.9 million units in 2019, before COVID-19, and 225.5 million units in 2020, the first year of the spread of COVID-19, it is expected to drop to 213.5 million units last year and 204.8 million units this year.
