Samsung’s fastest 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM goes official

Samsung was assertive in its press, where it revealed the advantages that the new LPDDR5X DRAM chip offers a capacity of 16GB and each memory package can have a maximum capacity of 64GB as well as the fastest LPDDR5X DRAM with speeds of up to 8.5Gbps in data transfer for mobile devices…..! 

Samsung added a new page on its portfolio while launching the industry’s first fastest LPDDR5 DRAM chip for mobile devices. The new memory module is fabricated using the 14nm fabrication process, and it offers 1.3x faster performance. 20% lower power consumption compared to LPDDR5 DRAM is being added to the list of esteem. Using the 14nm EUV process has already been validated for use with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Mobile platforms.

The memory chip boasts data transfer speeds of 8.5Gbps, which is 1.3x faster than LPDDR5’s 6.4Gbps speed. Expectingly will see super soon these new DRAM chips inside future high-end smartphones. As well as ultra-thin laptops smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices next year. Although, Samsung hasn’t shared any further details yet on the same.

Our LPDDR5X will broaden the use of high-performance, low-power memory beyond smartphones and bring new capabilities to AI-based edge applications like servers and even automobiles.”
