A great way to increase the security on your phone is setting up a screen lock. You can use a few different screen lock types, such as fingerprint identification, face recognition, or a pattern password.
Here in this article, we will check how to enable, disable, and modify the screen lock on your Samsung Galaxy device.
Pattern
- On your home screen just visit the Apps-> Settings-> Lock screen and security.
- From the Lock screen section (on the right), tap Screen lock type. If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
- Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap CONTINUE.
- Draw the same pattern again then tap CONFIRM.
- Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap CONTINUE.
- Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
- If presented, select an option then tap DONE. Show content, Hide content, Do not show notifications.
Pin
- Go to Apps- > Settings -> Lock screen and security.
- From the Lock screen section (on the right), tap Screen lock type. If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
- Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap CONTINUE.
- Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
- If presented, select an option then tap DONE (lower-right). Show content, Hide content, Do not show notifications.
Password
- From the Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps iconSettingsLock screen and security.
- From the Lock screen section (on the right), tap Screen lock type. If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
- Enter a password (4 to 16 characters, including at least one letter) then tap CONTINUE.
- Re-enter the password then tap OK.
- If presented, select an option then tap DONE (lower-right). Show content, Hide content, Do not show notifications.
