Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S20 getting October 2022 patch update

Samsung has officially released the October 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20 Series and Galaxy S21 FE. The all-new firmware update for the Galaxy S20 lineup and Galaxy S21 FE is rolling out in European countries.

As per the firmware changelog, the new update for the 4G LTE versions of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with firmware version G98xFXXSFFVIB.

The 5G versions of the smartphones get the new update with firmware version G98xBXXSFFVIB. The update is currently rolling out in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Southeast Europe, Spain, Switzerland, the Baltic region, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK.

Samsung is also sending the current month’s patch update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990BXXS2CVI5 in Europe. It is now available in Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK. It could be released in more European countries in the next few days.

If you are a Galaxy S20 series smartphone user in any of the countries listed above, you can now download and install the new software update by navigating to Settings -> Software update -> Download and install.
