The Assistant Driving Mode dashboard is shutting down officially

Google spread beam of Maps integration in Assistant Driving Mode is going away in going week. Previously a voice-forward dashboard “Hey Google” that used to enable everything drivers wants—like navigation, messaging, calling, and media—front and center.

But now rather than using voice commands or a home screen shortcut opening Driving Mode. The season changed into standard Maps navigation, which offers pop-up notifications for incoming calls and messages by tapping the large icons on the screen or through standard voice commands. Thankfully, the app grid is still there, giving you quick access to all those services and shortcuts.

The company is focusing on that and finds that most people are using just that anyways. The car-optimized experience in Google Maps for Android, which Google also refers to as Driving Mode, will be the same.

As was already implied that Android Auto has been praised compared to Driving Mode.  Although, Google notes that millions of people use both instances of Driving Mode every day. This follows Google Assistant gradually pulling away from projects that are not solely focused on voice assistant functionality. Like Snapshot, for Look and Talk, and Quick Phrases on the Nest Hub Max.
