With Google’s new “Results about you” feature, users will be able to put in requests to have Google remove that sort of information from Google Search results with just a few taps.

A key element of feeling safer and more private online is having greater control over where their sensitive, personally-identifiable information can be found. That’s why we’re introducing a new tool in Google Search to help you easily control whether your personally identifiable information can be found in Search results, so you can have more peace of mind about your online footprint.

Google’s new “Results about you” tool

As of nowadays, opening the Google app on Android and tapping your profile avatar in the top-right corner reveals a new “Results about you” menu item. The process can be quite lengthy and might require information like credit card info and social security to be available in Search results.

Google has already added functionality by allowing users to remove phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses. With Google’s new “Results about you” tool, people get easier access to this request feature.
