Samsung lose the race in regard to the stable Android 13 update release

The South Korean tech firm has already on its way and so far releases three Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta updates

Out of various OEMs, Samsung is primarily the first non-Google Android OEM to release the new stable version of Android. Notably, the South Korean tech firm has already on its way and so far releases three Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta updates for Galaxy S22 series. This firmware build has also reached to Galaxy S21 series. But unfortunately, the company lose the race in regards to the stable Android 13 update release.

Reportedly, Chinese firm OnePlus has dominant here. As it yesterday released the stable Android 13 (OxygenOS 13) update to the OnePlus 10 Pro. It indicates that OnePlus took very little time. It takes approx 1.5 months to come up with the stable update. In contrast, Google released the final version of Android 13 to Pixel smartphones. While Samsung is not scheduled to release the stable Android 13 update yet and that’s wont possible before the end of October 2022. And in this way, Samsung will be nearly three months late than Google.

Faster and buggy updates or slower and more stable updates?

Although, it seems good to some extent for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. As OnePlus is egregious for rolling out buggy software updates to its phones. The same we found among the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 9, where its users were seen complaining of bugs and issues in the very first few stable releases of Android 12. And that might could be true with the OnePlus 10 Pro’s Android 13 update as well. However, this is simply an assumption as we hope for the best to come.

At the same time, OnePlus has a previous track record of releasing an early update to its recent flagship devices. But severely failed to provide the same for the rest of the phones in the line-up. Even if high-end phones are released alongside the flagship devices. While coming to Samsung’s updates then they are usually more stable. The stable update of Android OS that is released by the company once is swiftly rolled out for the rest of the high-end devices also.

Additionally, the South Korean tech firm could release the Android 13 update to most of its high-end and mid-range smartphones by the end of Q1 2023. Whereas, the company surely adds more features than those of OnePlus to its major software updates.
