7-year-old Galaxy S6 getting GPS fix update

Samsung has recently promised to update its older devices with a new software update. Yes, you read it right, the South Korean tech firm has now started rolling out the GPS fix update.

Earlier the same update was rolled out to the devices like Galaxy Note 8 and S8 series. At this point, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and S8 series are almost five years old from now. It sounds really amazing that Samsung is taking care of its older users.

The 7 years old Samsung Galaxy device, Galaxy S6 latest update is rolling out with the firmware version G920FXXU6EVI1 and the update size is over 1.9GB in size.

Unlike the Galaxy S8 which received merely a 400MB update, the Galaxy S6 is receiving the fix with an update of over 1.9GB in size. However, the device will keep running on Android 7.0 Nougat upon update. Other devices, the Galaxy S9, Galaxy J7, and various tablets have received an update carrying the GPS bug fix so far.
