Samsung managed to ship more smartphones than it did a year ago and improved its market share. As per the latest report from the Counterpoint, the European smartphone segment declined by a whopping 11% in just one year. Shipments reached the lowest quarterly total since Q2 2020. Other companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Realme have suffered losses.
Samsung 1 million smartphones shipment mark:
Samsung ranked on the first position with a market share of 32% in Europe in Q2 2022, which increased from 27% in 2021. Followed by Apple (24%), Xiaomi (19%), Oppo (5%), Realme (3%), and other OEMs combined.
Samsung set a remarkable era that, it shipped around 13 million smartphones, up 1 million from Q2 2021. Although, quarter-on-quarter, Samsung and Apple lost some ground due to their withdrawal from Russia.
Counterpoint Research’s Associate Director, Jan Stryjak said, “it was a mixed bag of results in Q2 2022, and year-on-year comparisons mask complex market dynamics. Much has changed in Europe compared to last year and even last quarter, both from an industry and macro perspective.”
