South Korean smartphone maker Samsung exclusively used One UI as the Android skin. Considerably it is the third iteration of its original Android skin, TouchWiz. That skin eventually became Samsung Experience which itself evolved into One UI. Succeeding all, it is designed to make using larger smartphones easier and become more visually appealing.
Presently we are using One UI 4.1, a minor update of One UI 4, which was first released with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. It doesn’t bring big changes.

Samsung offers the new “Extra Brightness” toggle under the Display settings to let you punch up the brightness.

Pro Mode on more cameras:
With AI Super Resolution technology, there’s a 40-megapixel front camera for selfies. Samsung has made significant improvements to the low-light camera performance on this device.

Night Mode portraits:
While a system-wide “night mode” was added which gives UI elements and supported applications a darkened color scheme.

On 25 February 2021, the company announced Teenage Engineering as a founding partner, mainly responsible for the brand’s design aesthetic and its products. Nothing’s first product “ear (1)” was launched on 27 July 2021.

The update also makes claims about better charging efficiency and third-party charger compatibility. The smartphone is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

Nothing Phone (1) custom schedule will be enabled by default for the always-on display functionality. This means that the always-on display functionality in Nothing Phone (1) will shut off on its own at night

The latest Nothing OS may also allow users to see fingerprint icons even while the display is off.

The update also asserts to have fixed the Bluetooth codec problem. Apart from this, the update also brings a few additions to the UI.

Design and the Iconic Glyph Interface:
The Nothing Phone (1) has been able to create in the smartphone market due to its unique design and the iconic Glyph Interface. Glyph Interface is the rear panel of Phone (1) that consists of 900 LEDs.
The users can use the Phone (1)’s Glyph Interface as a notification LED, charging indicator, and several different functionalities. You can also change how the LEDs light up and flicker based on the ringtone. Nothing also allows the users to customize the Glyph Interface as per their choice.

The Nothing Phone (1) comes with a 6.55-inch OLED display. The display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone also features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Storage and chipset:
Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (1) is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset. The SoC is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
