Why isn’t Samsung including Charger plug inside the box

Samsung has confirmed that it won’t include many accessories you may expect in its packaging

Samsung No Charger inside the box

Talking about the Indian smartphone market then we have seen a lot of changes in the past few years. As companies shift their focus from the flagship segment to the mid-tier segment to entry-level smartphones coming along with amazing specifications, the market has evolved.

With the quick enhancement in the smartphone industry during the last few years, one could get a 5G enabled smartphone with a lot of features like a larger display along with a decent camera system and that too at a much more affordable price. However, those who are willing to buy budgeted to mid-tier smartphones from Samsung might be disappointed now, as they going to stop providing chargers with their smartphones further.

Although the removal of the charger from smartphone boxes has been disappointing and disheartening news among users, it has also been a contentious topic among smartphone users over the last year, and now Samsung has also confirmed that it won’t include many accessories you may expect in its box when you buy its phone, and this news definitely going to hurt the sentiments of some dying heart fans of Samsung.

Smartphones without a Charger: Why is this a trend?

Earlier people used to make fun of Apple and its iPhone 12 which has been sold without a charger, now Xiaomi and Samsung are following suit. It has been noticed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 and Samsung Galaxy S21 will be sold without chargers.

Samsung following the trendsetter

The first smartphone maker to follow footsteps of Apple is the Chinese brand Xiaomi. Founder Lei Jun confirmed a rumour on social network Weibo that the next Mi 11 will be sold in a thinner and lighter package, without a charging cable.

Following Apple South Korean giant Samsung also confirmed that it was embarking on the trend with its upcoming Galaxy S21.

Samsung: The possible reason for not having a Charger inside the box

Samsung is working on the global transition by the removal of the earphones and charger plugs from all Galaxy smartphones following the Galaxy S21 series. However, following the below heads to get the things more clearly:

Budget Samsung phones could ship without a charger

Reportedly, the Samsung Galaxy M series and Samsung Galaxy A series is tipped to ship without a charger in the coming future as phones as device are already revealed.

Again, it would be odd to see budget Samsung phones without chargers. While the company had already removed the in-box charger from Galaxy S series back in 2021, removing it from the budget smartphones might not be a good idea.

People who have purchased smartphones worth Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 may not be able to purchase a charger for another Rs. 1,999 (the retail price of Samsung’s 25W power adapter on the official website). Additionally, the chargers come in a separate package, which requires more cardboard and paper.

Conclusion: As far as my view is concerned then I believe that the Asian smartphone makers are limiting their costs while trying to limit their impact on the environment and making their mid-range phones more affordable. So that the majority of buyers can afford them.
