Recently a report related to phone shipment has been released and it shows that in Q1 2022, the foldable phone market grabbed 2.22 million shipments milestone which is a 571% year-on-year increase. You will be glad to know that the top device in the foldable device market is Samsung’s Z Flip 3 which captured 51% of the market, while the Galaxy Z Fold 3 had a 20% share.

Now about the upcoming Samsung foldable phones the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, the company has reportedly set a target of 15 million foldable phone shipments which will be combined.

For now, we don’t have the exact date of launch but yes if we believe in rumors so it should launch in August this year. The event will be live on August 10 and the distribution of the phones will start on August 26.

Apart from this information, The smartphone with model number Galaxy Z Flip 4 (SM-F721U) has recently appeared on the Geekbench’s database, revealing the phone’s processor, RAM, CPU benchmark scores, and software version.

The phone features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor (still codenamed Taro, similar to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1) with higher clock speeds: 3.19GHz for Cortex-X2 CPU core, 2.75GHz for C0rtex-A710 CPU cores, and 1.8GHz for Cortex-A510 CPU cores.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is rumored to feature a design that’s similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It might have a slightly bigger cover display, a 120Hz foldable display, a slightly thinner body, a 3,700mAh battery, 25W fast charging, fast wireless charging, stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and an IPX8 rating.

Software:

Samsung is said to launch the foldable device Galaxy Z Flip 4 with a One UI 4 build based on Android 12L which has recently appeared in this post, once the final version is distributed the company will make the debut of the next version One UI 5 which will be based on Android 13.

Android 12L is only available for foldable screens and the maker of this version is Google. The dual-pane notification center and new task manager would be more useful on the larger Fold 4, though bug fixes and optimizations would also be welcome.
