Samsung is far away in the technology field. Talking in the field of electric vehicles, Samsung has decided to not build cars but to supply crucial components to the EV industry including batteries and camera modules.
Tesla is leading the charge with its vehicles. The company was looking to source camera modules for its electric Cybertruck and Semi vehicles. Now, according to the information, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has won the race against LG Innotek to win the order title.
With Samsung Electro-Mechanics beating LG Innotek’s bid, it’s now expected to supply all of the camera modules that will be used in the Tesla Semi and Cybertruck vehicles. Tesla has already announced these EVs and it’s now looking to ramp up production as it seeks to deliver the vehicles to customers in the coming years.
In terms of Tesla truck design, it has the ability to challenge the top leading pickup trucks. With a sharp-edged exterior that is made of scratch- and dent-resistant stainless steel, Tesla’s all-electric truck is seriously tough. Along with available all-wheel drive, the Cybertruck can tow up to 14,000 pounds and has an estimated driving range of 500-plus miles.
Tesla has delayed the truck’s production timeline several times already, but on April 7, 2022, CEO Elon Musk again promised that the truck is coming and will be out in 2023.
